I had the pleasure of photographing a huge milestone: Bud and Carol’s 50th Anniversary!

It gives a little more perspective to the weddings we shoot to be able to document the “happily ever after.”

The celebration was held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park but before the reception, we were able to get out and take some family photos…

And then commemorated their anniversary with dinner, cake and dancing!

The Petersens are +2 with the arrival of their beautiful twins, Nora and Lilly.
You might remember Ella’s three year old session and it was so much fun coming back to this family of 5!

You can tell how excited Ella is to be a big sister!

Nora and Lilly arrived very early but are healthy and making strides every day. Nora’s with Emily and Lilly’s with Corry.

Let’s not forget Ella, who is so gorgeous! :)

I love coming to clients’ homes because it is so much more relaxed and you can easily capture the vibe from the family.
This is one of my favorites, because it’s so them.

MAYBE THIS NEEDS TO BE MY FAVORITE!!

We went on to do some studio work, and I love all of these in black and white. Classic.

Emily = Wow!
Another total favorite. Graceful, fun and taking it all in stride. :)

Just one more of a million reasons why I love photographing families. And, while it’s totally living vicariously through my friends that have kids, I really enjoy getting to know my friends as parents. It’s pretty cool.

Pretty cool is also getting pretty sweet photos of a pretty gorgeous two year old. I love this one!!

Pretty sure my better half was trashing my credibility with a bunny or a duck…but it did get a smile! He’s great at that! :)

I take no credit, but my friends are really hot. :)

Another favorite. I just love this one! :)

I loved this series, but this one is my very favorite. It totally catches her personality, and I just might need to make a canvas of it! :)

We headed outside, pink dress and all, and I LOVE this one!

Yeah, it’s been awhile since I’ve had “work” to post! That’s OK by me, because seasons ebb and flow and while work was slow, we made sure that we filled all of that “extra time” with lots to do!
The most significant being that we’re selling our house and moving to Windsor! It was easy creating a huge to-do list of everything needed to get the house ready to sell, including painting the kitchen…but I digress. :)

A terrific break from the Do-It-Yourselfing was to document Collin’s Baptism, on Christmas Eve. You might remember him from Ellie and Pete’s maternity session and his darling newborn sesssion.

Now, Collin is a butterball of four months and couldn’t have been a better baby throughout the service. I was really impressed because since the service was ALSO a Christmas Eve service, it had more components to it.

But Collin got to go first. :)

I got really excited when I realized he was looking at me (the camera) and giving such good eye contact. The big, black thing is a little magnetic. :)

Collin’s sponsors were his Aunties: Hannah (Pete’s sister) and Maggie (Ellie’s sister).

Pastor Mike invited the kids up front to watch.

Another family photo session to round out the season! Brittany is a floral designer and did this wedding, and her mother-in-law even officiated! :)

Bryan and I went out to Eaton where they live, and were delighted to meet Colin, Aya and baby Edward. They have a charming little old house with plenty of character!

Alright! The Blair Family wins grand prize for the most unique names. All the way around.
This was definitely the largest single session of a family I’ve done before (not counting weddings) and it was great! The kiddos were awesome and helpful in getting smiles out of the baby! ;)

These two are good friends from college, Nick & Erynn. We reconnected when I was shooting this wedding.
